Microtechnical Services is a small, independent business offering a range of technical histology solutions to staff working in various fields of biotechnology, university research and education. In addition to higher education teaching and practical class work where students can practice staining protocols on expertly prepared tissue sections.
Our main area of work is in supplying universities with the resources needed to run microscopy classes. We have a well established reputation with many leading universities and higher education establishments who have come back to us year after year. Not to mention the many post- graduate students over the years we have been able to assist with practical elements of a thesis to underline their research
We have also had the pleasure of working alongside research studies required by several leading biotechnology/ pharmaceutical companies.

Our Products and Services:
- A selection of tissue sections, these can be provided stained or unstained for class work or personal study.
- A tissue processing microtomy and staining service that can meet the needs of researchers with a bespoke service to fit your requirements.
- We can assist laboratories who have collections of tissues, blocks or unstained slides of sections or smears that require finishing and mounting prior to reading and archiving by the referrer.
- We are well equipped for high volume slide production. Using Leicia microtomes, Autostainer XL, and Coverslipper. In addition we have a SlideMate AS slide printer with built in scanning facility to scan QR code labelled cassettes if required.
